Over 80 Armenian musicians as part of the SAKO International Orchestra have performed in Madrid

The Qatar Foundation, Casa Arabe and Ministry of Culture of Spain has organized the concert of SAKO International Orchestra on 26 February 2009 in Madrid. The 2350-seat Auditorio National de Musica Madrid was full and the orchestra under direction of composer Salem Abdul Karem performed the 'Qatar'Symphony on highest professional level followed by standing ovations of the audience. First performance of the symphony created by composer and oud virtuoso Dr. Salem Abdel Karem took place in Doha, capital of Qatar, at the beginning of June 2008. The symphone is dedicated to the Sheikh and Sheikha of Qatar who were present at its premier in Doha. After the symphony's astonishing success the Qatar Foundation made decision to present the 'Qatar' Symphony by Dr.Salem Abdul Karem in several European capitals and big culture centers. In December 2008 the symphony was performed in Istanbul. Next concert took place in Madrid. The third European prermier will take place on 29th May 2009 in Berlin.
